If the GOP is so sure Bush will finish his term, why are they in pure panic and coverup mode now? No no, Ken Mehlman and Karl Rove know exactly what is happening now. This is like the beginning of Watergate. But even Nixon did not have the backlog of scandalous lies and corruption built-up that Bush-Cheney-DElay-Rove have. Those four are the Four Rogues From Texas. They have become political outlaws thumbing their noses at the world around them. But now there is a big crack in the wall around them. And they know it. Also, look at the DLC governor's conference and see some very formidable centrist Democratic governors who want to run for POTUS in thw wings. Who does the GOP have besides its own centrists who don't agree with Bush half the time? The rightwing does not have a single formidable candidate for POTUS in 2008. Frist thought he was, but he's been destroyed. The Schiavo case really destroyed them all. Jeb Bush especially.
