Why did Ken Mehlman openly lie to the press Friday? It was a desperate move, an attempt to confuse the press for a few days just to remove the alarming Rove scandal from the front pages. It worked for about one day, but now that everyone realizes the press didn't and couldn't have told Rove Plame was a covert CIA officer, the lie falls apart. Also the lie was meant to give the base (gullible dittoheads or liars like you) ammunition for the ongoing debate. Bushies are running out of lies to tell. Lies aren't working anymore. They're going to have ton start fessing up, but they can't, because if they do, some of them are going to prison.
