No offense intended, but you guys on the left keep on getting nuttier!

Before you laugh too hard, read "War is a Racket" by American General Smedely, you can read it right here: lexrex.com
War is a Racket was written in the 1930s as a newly militarized Germany, mainly built up with Western support, threatened Europe with war. General Smedly, a man who was in a position to know, correctly wrote in 1936 that feeding Hitler would lead to another war in Europe. He attributed it to the war profiteers who dominated American industry. His famous line is, "war is the only business in which you count the losses in lives and the profits in dollars". He knew the deal back in 1936. A lot of people have since put the pieces together how the Fords and Bushes and similiar industrialists saw Hitler as a perfect opportunity to expand their wealth.

Life is stranger than fiction. Many think FDR engineered our way into the WW2 by letting the Japanese attack our Pacific fleet. A strong arguement could be made in favor of that theory.

Viet Nam? What they hell was that all about, did we really have to lose all of those lives? Even LBJ admitted that the Gulf of Tonkin incident probably never happened. Viet Nam, another war profiteering bonanza, and perhaps a chance for Rockerfeller to see if there was any oil off the coast of SE Asia.

Gulf War in 1991. Same routine. Build up Saddam's army. Let them invade another country. Then tear him down with our army and look like heros, all the while profiting from the deadly war business and getting a firm grip on the oil wealth in the region. The Gulf War proved our leaders are willing to go to great lengths to secure profits and world domination. Why should we think WW2 was any different?

I don't even think it's a left/right issue anymore. It's more like the Plutocracy that has taken over this country, against everyone else. I no longer look to the Democrats to get us out of this mess. So, this whole left thing is rather hollow. We were, after all, engineered into WW2 and Viet Nam by Democrats. The Gulf War was a Republican oil war. It's more like and elite vs. everyone else sort of situation. The elites control both the Ds and Rs, everyone else just fends for themselves, and if you're smart, you stay out of their wars.

If it makes you feel any better, as I grow older I am a bit less thrilled about the Democratic approach to government. Great, we pay taxes to the federal government that are used to fuel the greatest war machine the world has ever known and great death and desrtuction around the world. Not what I really want my money spent on. I do like the fact that the Dems have tried to introduce national healthcare and family medical leave and that sort of thing, but their taxes go to fuel the war machine that the Republicans are all too happy to fund and run for big business. Starve the federal govt. and perhaps we'll have less war.
