I'm sure if Einstein realized that Hitler had been built up by Western powers he would have detest our either utter incompetance or greed for giving such a dangerous person a new military. We have military personnel who spend their entire careers worrying about what the next potential military threat might be. You don't think there were British and American military and intelligence personnel who could see Hitler emerging as a threat? Gen. Smedley knew in 1936 when he wrote War is a Racket. Why would we fund such a character like Hitler knowing he was a growing menance, a rational approach would have been to embargo him and try to take him out by covert means. But, we did neither.

The problem is, the U.S. is way too eager to build up despots like Hitler and Saddam and then go in and destroy them militarily and take over their country. Does Canada do this? Does Mexico do this? No. Why are we engaging in such blatant militarism? It surely hurts us domestically, as the domestic front is starved for funds, while we're out destroying and rebuilding the world.
