Which makes one ask what happens at the US retail level if China lets their currency float in the open market?

I don't think the world has ever seen anything like this. [Which perhaps leads to the inadequate parallels.] China is sucking up natural resources on a global basis. In terms of GDP China doesn't have the largest global economy, but in terms of influence and control of the global economy they might be already there.
