Nobody said the world has to work this way. I agree, it's not realistic to expect no corruption at all, but we've got rampant corruption in the U.S. now and its mainly because of apathetic and defeatest citizens.

There is no reason why we have to put up with this. It exists because we tollerate it. We are concerned with abstractions like Terri Schiavo and not about the bread and butter that makes our society functional normally.
