Nobody would disagree that it should be tracked down and recovered. I did see a story not too long ago that said $13 B was missing, perhaps they found some of that money or it was misunderstood how much was missing?!? In any case, up to 1/4 of the money sent to the Pentagon every year apparently disappears to only god knows where (that was documented back in the 1980s and nothing has changed since then)??? So, this sort of corruption with the Iraqi reconstruction funds isn't surprising in the least. Unfortunately, it is our soldiers who have to bear the brunt of this missing money, as reconstruction projects that were suppossed to pacify the Iraqis somewhat are not being performed, so we have desperation and chaos. My real concern is that we're actually focusing on rebuilding Iraq at all. I'd really, for once, like to see an American government focused on rebuilding America. I don't follow the logic of Amerians accepting these policies as being OK. Americans would scream and yell if say their state decided to send 1/2 of its captial improvement budget to a neighboring state, only to see the money disappear apparently being stolen?!? Now, who in their right mind would support pissing precious state taxmonies away on a neighboring state at all, much less one that can't account for the dollars. That is exactly what we're doing with our money in Iraq, and apparently that is just fine with the average brain dead American. No wonder this country is falling apart.
