Love Hawaii- too small of an area to live in for me though. Could do without the volcanos too.

My only points were the Nov-March weather and the beaches. If you are going through another horrible cold, gray northern winter all these places look like paradise including the SoCal beaches and points further north in Florida all of which can be too cold for beach weather at times. Flying another 8 hours to go to a little isolated island in the Pacific with mountains is personal preference I guess though many would prefer our area hands down for boating on our always smooth waters and intracoastal waterways, quick two hour flight and tons of places to see in a state of 17M people..
