Don't forget that OBL morphed, somewhere along his life time, from a western playboy to a freedom fighter in Afghanistan. I am not suggesting that either was necessarily a good thing. Its just that there is very little responsibility the CIA can take for what he became later in life.

I agree that we had a part in unleashing him and his on the world, but we are not responsible for what he did with that opportunity after the liberation of Afghanistan. In 1989 most of us, who now label them as terrorists, viewed the mujahideen as the 'good guys'.
