I learned a little bit more and the following is pretty telling. Novak's column is first distributed by wire on the Associated Press. Dollars to doughnuts it went out before 9 am. EDT. The Cooper phone call happened at 11 am. At that point the Plame thing is publicly available information. Now here is what's telling. Wikipedia claims that there is no way to determine at what time the AP wire went out with Novak's column. Thats pure Bovine Scatology. When I used to actively trade with a real time quote and news service, every single AP headline had a time next to it.
