Ken and Ann Bozigian learned that the two Marines with seabags waiting for a ride in front of them had just completed training in North Carolina and were reporting to Camp Pendleton the next day. The young men mentioned that they had been unable to find a cheap hotel with a vacancy and couldn't afford the more expensive ones. Several people in line overheard the conversation and offered to take the Marines into their homes for the night, reports Ken, who likewise offered a room at his home.

"It made me feel good that so many folks recognize what these kids are doing for us," Ken says. It so happened that one of those in the queue was a Hyatt hotel executive. He made a quick phone call and got the Marines a room gratis at a downtown Hyatt, plus a free limo ride to Camp Pendleton the next morning.

"I wonder what the MP at the gate (thought) when these two Pfc.'s arrived in a limo," says Bozigian.
