I agree with this, although the consequence of revealing the source would/could have a chilling effect on future whistle blowing.

Perhaps, but this isn't a case of whistle blowing, right? I think she should say that she will reveal her source because its not the reporter-source relationship, rather she's an individual being used by a criminal for his own ends.

Then again, I guess it would help to have all the facts before I come to that conclusion! It sucks that this "investigation" may take many more months and months.

And it seems they should rewrite the special prosecutor law so that it's not so broad. It's crazy that the Whitewater land deal prosecutor got Clinton almost impeached for getting a blowjob from an intern, and this guy investigating who revealed Plame's CIA status to Novak is throwing people in jail even though they didn't write an article on the topic.
