Well, educate yourself Brian. The U.S. issues skewed unemployment numbers. We do not count people that have given up looking for work, the Europeans do, so their numbers appear much higher than ours. This is well known amongst economists. Our unemployment numbers would be 2% to 4% higher if we included those who have given up and perhaps live in the underground economy. I bet a lot of those people make their money either under the table by legal means or in illegal trades, so they aren't necessarily unemployed either.

I'm talking quality of life issues. Canada and many European countries kick our ass on quality of life measures. The U.S. likes to say U.S.A #1, but it appears the only thing we're really #1 at is incarceration and murder rates. Whoopdie doo. I can definitely say that people are more relaxed and generally friendlier and more polite in Canada and Europe, so life can't be that bad there.
