Were you asleep on September 11th 2001?

No, and what did Iraq have to do with 9/11 anyway? Is there any hard evidence. Most of the hijackers were Saudis, Saudi money finances terrorism, Pakistan finances and trains terrorists, as we just saw in London. Why did we attack Iraq? And has it improved our terrorism situation? Not according to our very own CIA. They said it had made terrorism worse, so why are we there? OIL. Stop being so naive about how the world works. Economics drive wars.

If terrorism drove the post-9/11 wars, we would have attacked North Korea (a nuclear state that sells weapons), Pakistan (a country linked to terrorism), Saudi Arabia (another country linked to terrorism via money and the fact that the 9/11 jackers were mainly Saudis). We don't attack the later two because we need them for strategic oil reasons. The former, well I guess they have one up on us with their nukes. The War on Terrorism is being mismanaged at best.

I thought with the end of the cold war we'd actually start rebuilding our country for a change. But the military industrial complex is very strong. They have found new reasons to exist. We are certainly much more militaristic and facisitic than we have ever been in our history. American nationalism is on the rise and we've started engaging in offensive wars for the fist time in our history. Perhaps a die-in-the-wool conservative with blinders on can't see this significant change, but many others can. Kerry wouldn't have made much of a difference, he's part of the War Party. The difference will have to be made by Americans who demand changes and a new economy based on fuels not based in muslim parts of the world, so we can take our noses out of their business and let the terrorism threate abate.
