Our next thought is to get one of those "Have a Heart" traps and put a bowl of cat food in it and try to snag it. Then he can safely be put outside without harm. Have also thought of lining up cat food in a line to an outside door and try to get him out that way. Will not let it go without food or water for sure as that is not the right way to treat it. Just don't want it making a home or having babies up there as it is too inconvenient for me to live with. I have cared for my share of kids, cats, dogs, birds, fish, gerbils and turtles and have worried too much about them. Really don't want to add raccoons to the list.
