That depends. My brother died last year of liver cancer. What if the child that I did not know would have become the Dr that found the cure that would have saved his life? The fact is your analogy falls on it's face

Talk about faulty logic. If crime rates are all that matters then institute the death penalty for all unwanted children. That would solve many problems but it would beg the question (as you are doing) of whether it is right to kill Human beings for nothing more than being unwanted.
