suicides typically have low self-esteem I'm not sure suicide attacks can be analysed with suicides that stem from depression. There may be some overlap, but depression usually robs a person of the will to take the type of planning necessary for a sucessful attack. I think they are more influenced by the hopeless hero image. Do you recall the scene of Steve McQueen holding off the Chinese army at the end of The Sand Pebbles? He out-heroed his captain who also wanted a heroic suicide ending. Such imagery is not confined to Islam or the poor or the mentally ill. TP

Maybe so, but there is a long list of psychologists who will tell you that suicides typically have low self-esteem and hate themselves. All of their other hate stems from this. I would bet you anything that psychological profiles of all the suicide bombers would come back with remarkable similarities when taking a look at their self-esteem, susceptibility to suggestion, malleability, etc. Infusing people like that with a hateful ideology is a simple thing for ideologues. Its not just low self esteem. Many suicide bombers are teenagers. Teenagers will react instinctively rather than rationally to a problem. When they have something bad happen, like a break up with their girl, their first instinct is to end it all. Their self esteem may be no lower than anyone else's........but environmental conditions or circumstances play a bigger role on how they react to a situation. Muslim ideologues instinctively know that teenagers are fairly malleable in this regard...........that's why they routinely recruit teenagers for this garbage. They have the instincts of a pedophile and they are buttholes.
