I've changed my plans about coming back in my next life as a plumber. I'm gonna be a heat/AC technician. Ads in the Wash Post indicate that heat/AC firms are paying $1,500 signing bonuses to those who are qualified.

As far as the power grid goes, Vegas gets a good deal of it's electrical generation from Hoover Dam, the rest from typical coal/gas plants. Phoenix is fortunate in that they get most of their electricity from the massive Palo Verde Nuclear Plant, about 50 miles west of the city. If anything happens to Palo Verde, we're cooked (literally).....
