If the American people are no safer (at best) and it appears that even if life is still a bit better than it was under Saddam but that it can be expected to get worse, than I agree. Nothing positive.

Dude, you tell the guys fighting in Iraq, getting shot at, sleeping on the desert floor, doing patrol in 110º heat, who shower once every two weeks and are eating K-rations that this ain't no war.

I don't need to tell them that it's not a war - it's obvious. Common sense says partolling a neighborhood is not a war. Common sense says fighting a group with no central leadership is not a war. When the national guard is brought in to quell LA riots and some guardsmen get shot at, it is not a war. "War" is simply inaccurate rhetoric when describing the current activity in Iraq. Which side of the war are the Iraqi security forces on? The rest of your ideas (The Iraqi civil defense force will be doing patrol in 100 degree heat for the rest of their lives. They sleep in cots, not on the desert floor! And who cares what they eat?) are, as usual, meaningless to the discussion.

They do not sleep on cots. When they are out on patrol, they sleep on the desert floor or the floor of a deserted building. As for your contention that this is not a war, its really a minor issue.........I am simply tired of you saying it over and over again like a mantra.....like you are making a profound observation when it is not.

The decent thing to do would be to leave before we screw up their country any more than its screwed. I can't stand to watch the evening news any more. Iraq looks worse with each passing day.

Leaving immediately would be the selfish thing to do, there would be nothing "decent" about it. That would serve US interest primarily, and have minimal benefit to Iraqis that want to lead safe normal lives.

There is not going to be a right time. I believe the Iraqis are going to have to go through a period of civil war before they decide whether they will stay together, or go their separate ways. The US presense is mostly impeding that process.

Nothing has gone right since shock and awe over two years ago.

Your partisan bias is showing. You can find nothing positive about the removal of Saddam's regime?

I didn't say that. I said nothing has gone right since shock and awe. Stick to the facts.

Nothing? When you say this it reminds me how it is a waste of time exchanging posts with you.

Its a waste only because you believe you have all the answers when you do not. In fact, your POV may not be partisan but its definitely biased.

Go take an exam. The adults are trying to have a discussion.

That is coming from the 'adult' who talks about sex like he's in high school. Get a clue, dude!
