The inflation numbers the govt puts out are suspect from the git-go, they have no basis in fact, about the same level of accuracy shown by all of the highly touted economists, and they always miss be large factors. Talk about voodoo economics! The end of the cold war produced a very large power vacuum, and what we have now is the fallout. Of course the Soviets were never the threat the military/industrial complex touted them to be, but every protagonist needs an antagonist to keep the misdirection story alive........
