Just curious, but which Muslim countries have the most women as leaders?

I think one problem with naming a woman to the supreme court during a republican administration is the lack of qualified applicants.

There aren't that many highly educated, successful female professionals who would pass muster with Bush's christian fundamentalist "barefoot and pregnant" base.

Those few who do exist tend to be nutcases like Ann Coulter, imo.

"I do hope you can see the problem with having nearly no women on the Superior Court. It's a problem. "

A partial answer to your question might be the percentage of law school grads back in say the 1950-1985 period (that would be the pool for the current members) were woman versus the percentage the past decade.

I'm sure in Bush's calculation, a woman might just possibly support other women's right to an abortion. So, he really had no choice but to select a man. A man who, while otherwise immensely qualified, would be nearly CERTAIN to vote to overturn Roe V. Wade if given the opportunity. Hopefully, this choice will energize all concerned women, even Republican women.

Re: Do you see how we have a problem with women leadership in this country? The statistics speak quite loudly.

No they do not.

More women are staying home to raise children than ever before. Ergo, the pool of women is smaller, and this is by choice.
