Yes, I think we talked about that before.

Here in Florida when the orange juice price has been steady for a while and in December or January we see a "severe cold front coming" is the time to buy a few contracts of OJ , but you have to make sure that there is plenty of wind blowing from the North since more important that the drop in temperature is the "wind factor".<g>

At any rate, you need to have an open commodity account. since often times things happen close to the weekend and you have to make the move on a short notice. But it is nice to see when you are long that the price keeps going up the limit for several days on a roll until the people from the Agric.Depart. have enough time to asses the actual damage to the crop that many times is a lot less than the people in NY think.<g>

Lately with Brazil and other factors, Florida doesn't carry that much weight in that market, but we still have some geographical advantage.<g>

Is the same advantage that some people in Africa have in the Summer in the cocoa market or some in Colombia on the coffee. Cuba doesn't play an important role in the sugar market any more, because of Castro's mismanagement, so the hurricane season doesn't affect the sugar price. Lately it seems to have more effect on the oil price because of the Gulf drillers.
