This may be forced on the US - as we may find in 5-10 years that we can no longer pay the bill to be the Imperial Power, and can no longer recruit enough people to fill the slots either.

Unfortunately, it might turn into a war of attrition, which is exactly what Viet Nam was. Which is utterly insane. Basically, we're saying until enough young Americans are killed that our resolve to fight the war has ended, we won't pull out. What kind of foreign policy is that? And, what do we get in return for this war? More terrorism. The CIA says our involvement in Iraq has created a whole new generation of terrorists. What a brilliant policy.

We already can't afford this war. Our country is falling apart from neglect and our government is in the red. Who is benefitting from these assine policies? Someone is living high off the hog on our expense. It's amazing that the average American actually supports such assbackwards policies.
