That's precisely the left's problem with Scalia, that he respects the words of the constitution too much.

I agree with you up until you say this:

Why do you think that Scalia does not have respect for the constitution or the law? Many others on the court (ie liberals) that have far more examples of IGNORING the constitution. Ripping into the 5th ammendment a couple of weeks ago cheif among these examples. Others state that computer generated child pornography is free speech and that a courthouse with the 10 commandments on display is actually congress ESTABLISHING a national religion.

Would be curious to see some examples of Scalia changing the constitution. Let me know.
