I'm sorry but "demonstrating how it is incompatible with the courage to live in a peaceful and just coexistence with all" is not an operational tactic or strategy. It's a noble sentiment, but if terrorists believed in noble sentiments they wouldn't be blowing people up whenever they could.

The people in countries where terrorists come from don't believe in those noble sentiments. And they are mostly specifically pissed off with specific policies by specific countries.

I see your point - advocate rising above using a gross tactic, terrorism, to react to a specific policy. But I don't see how you practice that except from a bully pulpit.

Western voices don't control the bully pulpits in the Muslim world.

You can fight terror buy demonstrating how it is incompatible with the courage to live in a peaceful and just coexistence with all.

Did you read that in a fortune cookie?

You can fight them. You can also justifiably label them to be 'extreme'.

You can label them whatever you want, but if your label is not accurate it will only serve to make your responses less effective.
