"Some people would call them elements or evidence of a personhood" That is what I am saying. The "heart" is not an entity. It is a quality in an entity. Sentience, as well. If we found a dog who could speak, reason, and feel compassion--would we consider him insignificant because his chromosomes are different? What if we were unable to evaluate his chromosomes? Would we treat him unequally because of his color? Certainly, walking on all fours is a "deformity"!
