That's not true. I know. I've been there. The bridge at Chappy is on a deserted dunes beach without any lights far from any telephone or homes. It was also 3 in the morning. Pitch dark. He had to swim across a channel to get to Edgartown to find a telephone. He never hid out. He called the Sheriff and his lawyer. The woman was already dead. There was nothing he could have done at the scene except in the rightwing's imagination. You try diving into pitch dark 20 foot deep, cold running water in the middle of the night and rescuing someone from an upside down vehicle. Very difficult to even attempt. Kennedy is no Navy war hero like Kerry. He's not a Navy SEAL either. Only a guy like that might have managed it.
