Growing the "Money Supply" twice as fast as growth in the economy is not just like an economy based on a "Gold Standard." I understand your blind allegiance to the bankrupt Monetarist philosophy compels you to defend the indefensible, and you're willing to look the fool in doing so.

Yes, Greenspan's monetary policy is a little like Spain being on the "Gold Standard" -- during the 1600s when shiploads of gold arrived in port everyday.

Other than that comparison, the restraint you speak so highly of is mostly like a drunken Monetarist stripped down to their underwear, wearing a lampshade as a hat, while pissing on a policeman's shoes.

For some people, every type of aberrant behavior is an example of prudent restraint. I'm glad you're not a neighbor.
