Well, in general the analysts are idiots and tend to reflect "conventional wisdom" (reactionary) as opposed to any real foresight into the future, which they are paid to provide.

Regardless, the analysts provide the barometer by which results are judged both to the upside and downside, and if estimates are going down, that will effect the stock price. If LRCX was already in the dumper closer to the 52 week low than the high, it might create an investment opp. But with the price near the top of its range, the share price is going to be more vulnerable.

I just don't see what the trigger will be to get LRCX to break out above $32 on a meaningful basis, and until then the $30-$32 area is a place to lighten up, IMHO. Someone (not you)here several months ago was floating around a $65 target price, which is highly unlikely.
