Indie movie channel has been running a documentary on the development of punk from its roots in garage bands and three cord rock to its demise, and how it affected new bands like Nirvana and Sonic Youth. We never saw any of these bands but did see Iggy Pop, glad we did, but boy was he weird. Was thinking about rock n roll yesterday while getting Peruvian chicken takeout, that ai-ai-ai music I can't stand was playing. Why no Hispanic/Latino rock n roll? Why is the only good rock n roll American/Canadian/English/Scottish/Irish/Australian? Why doesn't it translate? Sorry Lindy, I guess this is off topic.
