Aug 1.

I think my daughter will be all right.
She is now complaining that Jello is not real food.

Such events may run in the family.
My brother had appendix surgery, and afterwards they said it really didn't look infected once they took it out.

Actually the story was a bit more complicated. My brother was a motorcycle policeman who also directed traffic at funerals. While the funeral procession passed he would park his cycle with lights flashing at an intersection and direct traffic. The previous day a car zoomed through and hit his motorcycle which startled my brother, so he fell back and hit his elbow (funnybone) on the ground.

There was a newsman in the funeral procession and he wrote about it the paper including the fact that my brother was "injured" in the accident. The next day we took him to the hospital with his sore stomach that turned out to be nothing, but he was listed as being in surgery. More newsmen got wind of the heroic policeman injured and in surgery from the accident and they showed up to interview him after his surgery, along with the local pastor and many wellwishers with flowers and balloons. The press conference was a letdown for all involved, even though they all said they were glad he was not seriously hurt.
