You need a sharp knife to get them open.

Kitchen shears, you can't accidentally cut open an artery. ;^)

There must be an agency that keeps track of people who were died or were seriously wounded as a result of cutting open blister packs or slicing bagels (or, in my case, dropping a Cuisinart blade on my foot!)

My paper shredders have little symbols that mean "don't put your tie in the shredder opening." Every symbol tells a story. I wonder about that one.
