Not sure you're reading it the way it was meant- -or at least what I got out of it. X seems to think theocracy is just fine if you're in the ME. Granny thinks Europe, with multiculturalist POV, is making itself vulnerable to Islamic fanatics. I'd agree with her. She also commented that the murder of Dutch filmmaker Theo van Gogh had made the Dutch people reticent about speaking out about Islam. I think the 1st amendment is just fine and gov'ts that shove religions down the throats of people are tyrannies.

Amazingly, established gov't supported and mandated churches exist among the accepted Western nations. In Greece, the only legal church is Greek Orthodox and it is state-supported.

I think freedom of religion is among the most brilliant ideas the Founders had.
