We are on the brink of a new age -- one in which we are no longer the center of the universe. It is a dark age of our own making. America thrived on free trade in brains, and now, in the name of "protecting" our economy and our national security, we tell the brightest young people in the world they are not welcome at our schools, and we tell those whom our companies seek to import to America because of their immense talents that there is no place for them here. It is economic suicide -- but what the hell, at least we are being consistent in all areas of economic and foreign policy.
