The real event is that the process has started yes and no. the event is meaningful in that something is now a moving unknown. the event is meaningless in that the world's problems will not be solved by the event or even follow-on events the issue is in fact the aggregation of 'on-going reform', coupled with 'increasing productivity', paired with 'hollowing out', mixed in with 'deficit vs surplus' the chinese trade surplus is in fact tiny the us trade deficit is simply quite enormous the rmb:usd shift will do naught, because there are structural reasons for the small surplus on the one hand and the enormous deficit on the other interesting development, again, simply because there is motion
