There are British specific reasons for why they are targeted and why the terrorists have had success.
1. Pakibashing was a sport of sorts in the UK during the 70s and 80s. These kids grew up with a historical memory of abuse and racism. So when imans come along with "the answer", watch out. If the US had reacted differently in the 50s, 60s and 70s to racism perhaps something similar might have happened here. To our credit we dealt with our shame over the last 50 years but there was a touch of terrorism along the way with radical groups.
2. The Brits have allowed islamic radicalism to flourish over the last decade. Mussharef lashed out at the Brits yesterday for allowing this to happen. We try to kill the South Asian terrorists on the afgan/pak border but the british give them a home in the UK.
3. A sizable number of brits like Mayor Ken Livingston--TG for Giuliani--are into appeasement (again). Even NY liberals would have none of that post 9/11 when al quaeda tried to make US policy in the mideast and troops in Saudi Arabia as legit reasons to attack us. Like Spain there are Brits who buy into this. TG for Blair.

NBC News has learned that British authorities told their U.S. counterparts that the backpacks used in Thursday's planned attacks and the explosives found in the backpacks are identical to those used in the July 7 attacks — evidence that strongly suggests the two sets of attacks were connected."

Very curious. Then why did all the bombs work on July 7, but all the bombs failed on July 21?
