Bill, what you need is a Smart Car. You would have a blast zipping around in the convertible getting the same gas mileage your moped gets. I'm semi-seriously considering buying one for the states. I’ve been investigating the small company which has been granted exclusive rights to the U.S. market (ZAP) recently.

I've driven the cars and they're a real hoot! Not cheap or flimsy or anything of the sort, solid decent cars which are just small as-can-be. Check it out. One recently bid up to 35 grand on EBay. I think DaimlerChrysler made an idiotic mistake not selling these cars in the U.S. Market. You see them all over Europe and it's the funniest thing to see them park in the same place many mopeds park.

Something related that I've been investigating. If this car gets a foothold and finds a decent sized niche market, this small companies stock should do very well. Only problem I have is they trade on something called the arca exchange. But I've never heard of it and wonder if it's legit.

Here's a good site where you can see the European version of the Smart Car up close.

Years ago I circumnavigated the entire island of Oahu (part of the road was dirt in those days) then hiked to the center of the island to that waterfall where people make wishes (forgot the name). Local cab driver told me very few people ever hiked to those falls and lucky I wasnt assaulted by native Hawain. jdn
