NY cops would not hesitate for a moment in a similar situation. The consequences of a mistake for cops are huge. This is a pure military situation for a police force that has restraints in place that the military doesnt in such situations.

I have been saying for weeks that if we get terror acts like Israel has to suffer or a massive terrorist attack that results in 10's to 100's of thousands of casualties that we will look back and say the Patriot Act was TAME. The British are normally pretty careful about killing suspects, you see what is going on now. The bottom line is this: Peoples security comes FIRST ahead of peoples liberties. jdn
