"It would be unlikely that a child raised in a different culture would seek revenge for a dad or uncle he never met.

Surely you jest. If I am that child, and my mommy is the child, sister, cousin, niece, grandchild, friend, beloved wife, mother, of those who were slaughtered; then I figure there is a fair chance that she might harbor and engender within me some degree of hostility toward the slaughterers of my heritage.

In my case, there is a good chance that Moses and his pals are toast, or that I die trying. ...

On the other hand if my father is one of them it changes the dynamic so that it is less likely that I would be effected this way.

Tribal loyalties were supreme in that era, lacking the diversity of ideologies to compete with that notion.

"...in the second, the birth of a child does, for the perpetrator or the policy according to which he is acting considers the child to be only Serb and to have none of the identity of the mother."

Have you seen 'Brave Heart' yet. This is the catalyst for the Mel Gibson character (William Wallace) to get jiggy with it. Also touched on in 'Rob Roy' but the politics of it aren't clear.

In Brave Heart is was made clear that it was the official policy of the English to breed the Scotch out of the Scottish. The policy authorizes them to gang rape a new bride prior to consumation with her husband. Ironically, William Wallace and the future queen of England fall in love and Wallace secretly impregnates her.

Great movie, based on a true story.
