I thought we were discussing the laughable Laffer Curve. Econ 101 and all that....but, sure in principle, I agree with you that spending should be cut as part of a deficit reduction strategy. That's easy enough to say and believe but hard as hell to implement

Please tell W, who is spending like there is no tomorrow.

I'm a Republican and I doubt that I'll ever cross the line, but facts are facts--W's budget is crazy, e.g., the Medicare Rx benefit was pure pork which should have been implemented only until we could have afforded it. Of course, being honest about it would have meant he would have lost Florida in '04 and he was keenly aware of what Fla. meant to his reelection.

Don't let the political BS from either side smother your critical faculties. And both the right and the left will bombard you with it.
