Of course not, nor would I, nor is that in any way derivative of my point (which you were responding too).

I would prefer to take an honest young barber (with the aptitude) and send him to medical school to become an excellent heart surgeon. Given his successful achievement, I would prefer to have him prescribe the treatment than someone who is known to be unethical, is over invested and has a drinking/gambling addiction but is also renouned for his skill as a surgeon.

That would be a more direct analogy to my position than what you offered.

Unfortunately, you seem to view that as a forced choice. I do not.
