I agree -- I think avian flu would/will hit the global economy very hard indeed -- what will Greenspan do in this situation, assuming he does not die of the flu? I say he will turn on all the pumps and keeping the electronic printing presses going night and day.

I think the risks of a "raging global pandemic" are extremely low. Possible of course but low. If one does happen I am not sure it will be possible to predict exactly how anyone responds.
