Have mercy on this thread, gentlemen. It is simply not used to civil discourse. Can one of you start shouting at the other and call him a pig or something? We need to act more like Roman Senators of Ancient Rome, where they shout, punch, and call each other names, all in the effort to have a good "confero/diputatio". :)

Taro,

re:By the way, how far back does your Swedish ancestry come in?

The last name is not actually mine - but my step fathers. My real family name is Norwegian (Pedersen) and they emigrated to the USA in 1890 something from Oslo to Canada then to Zion (Utah to the Mormons). Ole (my great great great great grandfather) had a three year diary up until he died days before the trip, baptizing others before the journey for fear they'd die at sea. He had to break the ice in the lake and gave his jacket away to a young woman and died from pneumonia. His son finished the diary on the trip - what a read it is - really gives you an appreciation for how good we have it today.

By the way, how far back does your Swedish ancestry come in?

How did you know that Lindstrom was Swedish as opposed to Danish or Norwegian?
