It doesn't.

You just admitted abortion was made legal by law written from the bench. Liberals cannot win by popular vote. Congress makes laws.

That's because the vote is not always democratic. Remember the checks and balances system. Each branch is there to check the democratic inconsistencies or excesses of the other.

Eventually, you will get it.......I hope.

Why leave such an important matter to them?

That is the point isn't it? Your list of what you think is important and a list of what the majority in America thinks is important....

We are one nation presumbably........on an issue as important and potentially divisive as abortion...it should be decided on the federal matter, and not by the individual states. This is dangerous ground here........we tend to agree that the most important issues that are national in origin are decided on the federal level. That means we don't all get what we want all the time. There are tradeoffs. The last time we were not willing to make a tradeoff we went to war against each other. The only time I would be willing to fight is when an issue is clearly democratic but half of us will not accept that premise.
