We're talking about pre-fetuses actually. Fetus is defined as being more than 8 weeks developed. Most abortions are carried out as early as possible in the pregnancy process. What do they call them before they're fetuses? And what do they call it the morning after unprotected sex?

foetus is the British variant
fetus is the American variant

Both are correct.
