...."To list actual people would be hurtful.".... Hurtful? How so? They all have made statements &/or done things that expose their extreme leanings. Many of them have made numerous outrageous remarks, all of them publicly. All I did was to challenge you because you made the following assertions.... "....."I know there are some very strident voices on SI, on both sides."..... Would you agree that the extremes of both sides can sometimes be an embarrassment to their relative parties?....." I strongly disagreed with it & I called you on it. Now you say this. ...."I understand you perceive things are not "equal". I did not say they were "equal"".... You didn't assert that one side was worse than the other. Your remarks essentially laid equal blame on both sides. And I feel strongly if you accepted the challenge the evidence of the vast difference between left & right extremists would be overwhelming to any objective observer. ...."There is no reason to be personal and unkind, unless you wish to wound people.".... Horse hockey. The people I listed all have made extreme or outrageous remarks publicly. I was offended by what they said or did. Why shouldn't their extreme words & deeds be publicly debated? What is personal or unkind about discussing their extreme behavior also in public? Do you think that we should all remain silent & maybe it will stop? Maybe if I was kinder & tried to understand why people like me upset them in the first place they would mellow out & be less extreme?? Well, let me give you a hint. This sounds just like the lib response to terrorism. Don't confront them. Don't offend them. That's mean. You might hurt their feelings. Try to understand them. Besides, it was what we did that caused them to lash out at us in the first place. That didn't work in the 1990's. Not even close. We paid dearly for those horrific mistakes. And no amount of butt kissing by me today is going to calm down the extremists on the left either. BTW, I'm not buying the kissy kissy feel good bunk you're trying to sell today either. You have made hurtful, unkind & extreme remarks recently on SI. Why can't they be discussed publicly? Here's a reality check for you. If you speak your mind in public don't pretend to be shocked when someone takes issue with those remarks.
