Marines in Iraq are not happy. They love kicking ass and fighting together, that's their life and they're excellent at it, but they hate being stuck in a FUBAR situation. By now, none of them believe the WH ever-changing rationale for war. They know they were sent there to remove Saddam and grab oil, then everything got screwed up. They didn't appreciate being lied to about WMD's and having to wear those miserable MOPP suits. They don't like being stuck in a country they hate more and more and more. They don't like not being able to go party in Bangkok or the Phillipines and they don't like being used as bait for terrorists. Sure, they're brave and loyal, but there is a limit. They want an end game, a clear target, a way to make progress. They're not getting it. They just feel stuck and somewhat doomed. They also don't like seeing Halliburton truck drivers making $150,000 a year while they get treated like low class citizens. And they thought the war was going to lower gas prices, not make them go up. By now, they figure all their wives and girlfriends have cheated on them. Very high divorce rates going on. Meanwhile the armchair general neocons who never dared to go into combat themselves act like "what me worry?"
