Mish: Thank you -- I do note that the article itself cites competition from China and not the bursting of the housing bubble as the cause of relative slowing of the British economy. On the other hand, I do not have any reason to doubt that stalled or falling housing prices will hurt demand. Are second mortgages in the UK playing a similar role in hyping consumer spending as seen in the US?
