Having had the integrated TiVo experience, I really don't want to do without it.

I wonder, what do you think is more important to that experience: the integrated PVR or the TiVo? For me, 90% of why I loved my DirecTiVo was the dual-tuner and the direct directv feed capture. When I was forced to switch away from DirecTV, I really had no compelling reason to choose TiVo as my standalone PVR.

I do agree with you-- only people who have used TiVo have any chance of missing it. For most, any old PVR will be head and shoulders better than their reference frame (VCRs), so much so that they won't be looking for anything better for a while. Personally, I don't miss TiVo-- I miss dual tuners and Dolby Digital (I will concede that the TiVo remote is the best one I've used).
