Eye for an eye, John. The Muslims practice that little diddy. Perhaps we should as well. How many cheeks do you have? I only have 4 and they've all been used up.

re: Its exactly what free speech is all about. If we try to shut him up, we are only hurting ourselves.

I wonder if "nuking Mecca" would be considered "hate speech"? My guess is it would to the Muslim world.

Let's throw MM in jail for "hate speech".

But I guess "hate speech" is in the eye of the beholder.

He talks like that only because they were hateful first......in his eyes. If they had been nicer, he would be more neutral. Of course, that doesn't change the fact that they are inferior........any fool can tell that. <g>

I ran into a Muslim guy I know on campus the other day and I was worried the guy might figure out the post exchange I was having with MM over Muslims. ;~)

Seriously, I am glad there are no Muslims in my grad school cohort.........I get tired of the issue from this thread.

Heh. An old friend from Albany whom I'd lost touch with just became the foreign affairs guy for Tom Tancredo (the congressman who made that statement), and is now making a month-long trip to Africa to make nice with the Muslims there. I found out about his new position yesterday and got together with him in Dupont Circle last night after tracking him down.

Interesting stuff.

He would definitely be jailed in 80% of the Muslim world for saying that in a public square, and if he wrote it in any meaningful forum and got caught he would be jailed.

On silly chat boards like this the rules for anonymous posting are less clear. The board would probably just be banned from the network.

There is a blog in the country where I live that was discussing topical issues about the country. The government shut it down a few days ago.

In other words, "YES"!
